slate seal/finish

I recently cleaned and sealed a slate entry way at a restaurant. I used my spinner with DFC 105 and it cleaned up very nicely (wasn't that dirty). It seemed like the old finish was still in fairly good condition, so I only applied one coat. Three weeks later it appears very dull.

How many coats do you guys put on after cleaning slate? I usually do 2 and I'm wondering if I made a mistake only doing 1 this time?

anytime i put finish on a floor im putting 5-7 coats. that way i never have to take it all the way back down concrete finish or platinum both are bullet proof
