I have the old and new clear top model the new style isn't as strong as the original unit it broke. So I used the bottom part of the original unit and the clear top of the new style. Much better and stronger and still have the clear top to see the activity while cleaning . Works for me. jz

Unfortunatley, it's the top shell that sees all the stress from the fittings.

I find that the stronger original bottom changes that mine feels stronger than the newer clear unit. My original is very old and maybe stronger than the newer units ?
