That's some serious reading material there Dwain! Oh man, I don't know. I feel like I need to do some soul searching and see if I am ready and willing to get that deep into vehicle repair. Thanks for the reality check and offer to help Dwain.
Maybe today I'll get some MAF cleaner, do the vacuum test you described going up hill with the heat blasting, and if that doesn't reveal the issue I'll see how much the 02 sensors cost. I can rent a fuel pressure gauge and test the fuel system (maybe I should just buy one), I read that a bad fuel pump, filter, or regulator can cause this issue too. If after looking into and addressing all those things it doesn't improve then I'll pass it off to a professional mechanic.
