If that works for you, as I've said i have no experience with extreme weather too hot or too cold. But. I personally couldn't go back to operating a portable after running a truckmount. Even back in the 80's when my backup was a portable. I never used it after running a tm.

How do you service places like assisted living facilities for eldery people that have 1 large building with long hallways and such? Do you just turn them down? Tell them that you are going through a window with your hoses or you won't do the job? Run 250 feet of hose down hallways in the elderly living center?

Funny you should ask i just did a bid for one kast week. Its not a senior home but alot of low income people with disabilities
Its 2 story and has halls approximately 175' long.i dont know if im going to do it though. I gave um my I don't wanta do it price @.60 per sgft they approved it but gave me a butt load of paperwork to become a vendor. Buried deep in the paperwork i read net30(or longer depending upon how payment is processed) i said that if i have to wait 30+ days to get paid i want 15% more so now its a wait . I sent the paperwork in and waiting for official confirmation. But ill stretch out hoses here and clean my regular way but i did finally go my hands on the perfect wand for rinsing and drying here just a week before. A 24" steamgeni drag wandthe original bid for this job was 5,040 sqft @.60 $3024.00. My i don't wanta do it and deal with corporate crap price now is $3477.60

I will also require them to notify tenants of what is going on and the possible trip hazards. My hoses are bright green and hard to miss and i will set out trip hazard signs but i only have 11 or so. as much as possible i will make them liable, im in a great position to do this because I really don't want to do it ( and no one else wants to eighter) and i will walk away

Well done sir. I like your style.

On large open areas of hallways, and where truckmounts are hard to access, do you ever do a VLM method?

No vlm, we have little to no office space where i live, ost all carpets residential and small businesses. I don't want to sell vlm to residential. It's a hard sell to tell um that some little sweeper is going to do a better job than frankinstien. Especially for the same price. Try it walk any of your customers out to your truck, show um the equipment and offer um eighter process at the same price. you and i both know what they'll choose

It is a beast. Nate found it for me on Facebook. Ive wanted one for years but most people that have um want an arm and a leg for it. I got this one along with a 16" for 100.00+ 320.00 shipping for both a couple of parts i stock later and completely rebuilt 24" drag wand.it uses 6-9501 tee jets my 16" uses 4. I have 4 or 5 16" drag wands so i didn't bother assembling the one i just got rather put it on the spare parts shelf

I'm with you bud, your situation makes sense. I prefer HWE. However sometimes around me VLM is an appropriate option. I can offer it much cheaper than HWE because I can knock out square footage much faster and still gross $200 to $300/hour at a more competitive price. Which beats my usual of $150 to $200/hour with small to medium residential jobs in my truckmount. I wouldn't consider it in residential though, for many reasons, but allergen reduction is a big one. People are becoming more and more feeble and sickly and prone to allergies, so flushing more allergens out of carpet fibers in someone's home feels like a good service. And truckmounts just kick butt all around for residential work anyway.

When filling and burping the system with coolant, is it normal for the resrevoir to fill with coolant?

Ibe never used the funnel system instead i opted for a vacuum fill system recommended by Chevrolet and cleanco. But by the picture it appears to be a simple junior high-school science experiment in gravity and or how liquid levels work.( The level appears higher in the funnel than the expansion tank)perhaps clamping off the expansion tank while doing this process would help or unbolt the expansion tank and raise it above the fill line in the funnel

It feels like at least a senior high school experiment to me 😢

Good tips, thanks!

im pretty sure that if you raise the expansion tank higher than the funnel the coolant will lower in the expansion tank and rise in the funnel. If so you have completed the course send me 65.00 and a self addressed envelope and when the check clears ill send you your diploma suitable for hanging 😂🤣😅

The engine is not overheating, it won't take any more coolant or release any more air, I ran out of time to take it for a ride. I hope its all good for tomorrow. Its cold and raining all day over here. Just got finished wiring up some electrical stuff for monitoring and maintaining temps before it got dark. Everything takes me a really long time.
